While giving a speech today in Abu Dhabi, President George Bush insisted that “democracy was the only way to defeat extremism.” He also “urged US allies in the Gulf to confront” Iran because they are a “threat to world security.”
So I’ll tell you something now that you probably already know- and I am certain that Mr. Bush also knows: Democracy is NOT the primary form of government for our allies in the Gulf.

I really don’t have the words necessary to explain how dumbfounded I am by this.
A teary-eyed President Bush stopped in front of an aerial photo of Auschwitz on Friday at Israel’s Holocaust memorial and said the U.S. should have sent bombers to prevent the extermination of Jews there.
Yad Vashem’s chairman, Avner Shalev, quoted Bush as saying the U.S. should have “bombed it.” Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Bush referred to the train tracks leading to Auschwitz, not the camp itself, where between 1.1 million and 1.5 million people were killed by Nazi Germany.

I was starting to a get a little worried about the 2008 general election- dreading the idea of spending another 4 years with a Republican president leading our nation.
But I feel much better now that i know American Idol judge Simon Cowell is predicting a win for the Dems in ’08.
According to Cowell: ?My gut feeling is I think it?ll be a democrat is going to win the election in November. I?m fairly sure of that.?
