Rudy’s “one hour” myth

Rudy “9/11” Giuliani’s new advert puts forth a horribly false meme: that the Iranian hostages were released within an hour of Reagan’s inauguration (true) because Reagan was “tough on terror” (false).

Unfortunately for Rudy’s version of history, what actually happened was the release agreement was signed the day before the inaugural… and was negotiated by the Carter White House (led by Warren Christopher).

But why let facts get in the way of a good rant? “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!”

Nothing existed before Christians?

Following up her rather astonishing claim that the Earth is flat (which I can’t seem to find in the archives here), Sherri Shepard now claims that Greeks threw Christians to the lions and that nothing existed before Christianity. Ironically, in direct conflict with what the Bible says.

Sherri makes Elizabeth Hasselbeck look like the smart one. Like I read elsewhere on “teh Intarwebs”…

As a result of this video, Sherri Shepard is now polling at 13% amongst Iowa Republicans and 18% amongst GOPers nationwide.

I Might Support Clinton/Clark

The Clinton campaign posted a new ad up on YouTube today featuring General Wesley Clark dismissing attacks against Hillary and saying “he trusts her to deal with the many challenges that America faces around the world”.

I haven’t really thought about it before, but I suppose if Hillary announced Clark was going to be her running mate, I might actually start thinking about supporting her.
