In case you haven?t heard, there is Democratic Debate tonight in Las Vegas, NV.
And political writers across the country have taken this opportunity to give their headlines a Vegas-style twist. Here are a few just from today:
- Showdown in Vegas: Dems prepare for Nevada debate
- It’s fight night in Las Vegas
- Clinton to test her luck in Vegas
- Las Vegas lights up for Dems’ debate
- Starting Gate: Roll The Dice?
- Democrats go another round in Vegas
These national headlines are all mildly clever, sure.
But the award for best use of gambling references has to go to this press release I received from Rosemary Palmer?s campaign today:
KUCINICH GAMBLES AGAIN, THEN GOES TO VEGAS
PALMER DOUBLES DOWN ON COMMITMENT TO END WAR
On the eve of Congressman Kucinich?s trip to Las Vegas for yet another of his Presidential campaign appearances, he continued his pattern of gambling away the interests of the people of the 10th Congressional District of Ohio. This time, he voted against a bill which would require President Bush to start bringing American troops home from Iraq and ending combat there by the end of 2008. Mr. Kucinich was the only Democrat in the Ohio delegation to vote against this measure. The Palmer campaign has chronicled Dennis Kucinich?s gambling binge in the release of its latest satirical video ?The Gambler? which can be viewed at www.rosemarypalmerforcongress.com
