Yeah, it’s a day early, but yesterday’s Copa Oro final in Chicago between Mexico and Estados Unidos served up one absolutely terrific golazo from young American midfielder Benny Feilhaber.

Fantastic match winning strike!

  • Ah! So THAT’S where you’ve been!

  • It doesn’t have to hit the ground first? Hardly seems fair. 8 defenders were all caught off guard by that one…

  • I wish I had been at that game. I was in Chicago over the weekend, but I had to leave Sunday morning, and the game was Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field. 🙁

Magnificent goal, tho. That might be the most spectacular goal in US history. It certainly was historic – it was the first time the US ever came from behind to beat the Mexicans.

It does hardly seem fair, doesn’t it Eric? I gotta say, tho, US-Mexico is a lot like OSU-M*ch*g*n. I absolutely love having “scoreboard” in this one. Some of the most amazing sporting event experiences I’ve had have been the World Cup Qualifiers at Crew Stadium against Mexico.
