Back from my business-enforced sabbatical, and catching up on the news from the past week led me across this gem: George Bush is claiming that the Office of the President is not part of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government.
An executive order that Bush issued in March 2003 ? amending an existing order ? requires all government agencies that are part of the executive branch to submit to oversight. Although it doesn’t specifically say so, Bush’s order was not meant to apply to the vice president’s office or the president’s office, a White House spokesman said.
I feel like a broken record, as we’ve been saying this for years now – this Administration loathes accountability. They believe they are outside the law, and they try to place themselves there daily. This particular claim is incredible. The office of the Executive is not part of the Executive Branch?
I can’t wait to be rid of these jackasses. Worst President Ever? Maybe.
