This curious map replaces state names with the names of nations with roughly equivalent raw GDPs. As the Strange Maps blog points out, these numbers might be more interesting – and relevant – if they were adjusted to per-capita numbers before assigning countries.

If the title of this post doesn’t tip you off, Ohio’s GDP is roughly equivalent to Australia’s. Not bad.
