Like any interview with Ken Blackwell, this one needs very little introduction. It’s not ‘ha ha’ funny… more ‘why the hell is THIS guy on national televison?’ funny- or maybe ‘couldn’t chris mathews get a better guest?’ funny. Still, it has its moments- like the ‘500 Pound Canary in the Room’ comment.

Here’s the desription from the Family Research Council website:

Ken Blackwell, FRC’s Senior Fellow for Family Empowerment, appeared on MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews to discuss the 2008 presidential candidates and the Iraq war.

And here is the video:

  • 500 lb canary? Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot, man!

  • Think to yourself while you watch this video that this guy has a masters degree in Education. It will change the education debate for you forever! …500 pound canary in the room. Yikes!

Love the Matthews question: “How do we reduce the hatred?”

    Answer? “uh….uh………uh……well….the the the….i mean…that’s that’s that’s a fact…uhhhhhhhh

Hilarious. Ken was set up brilliantly by Chris in that he can’t answer that question because none on the right have even pondered it. The biggest takeaway from Ken is that we don’t “surccumb to the hatred”. Also, did he just say groups of terrorists were going to start turning on themselves?

Can we have Ken run for something else? Please? This is the most entertained I’ve been all week.
