Columbus, Ohio: John Swords, a candidate for Ohio?s 12th Congressional District, today decided to end his campaign and endorse the candidacy of former Congressman Robert Shamansky, a Columbus area lawyer and businessman, who represented Ohio?s 12th Congressional District from 1981-83.

Citing Former Congressman Shamansky?s commitment to fiscal responsibility, education, and real prescription drug reform, John Swords said, ?He has a clear vision for Central Ohio that is consistent with my own values. It is a great honor for me to endorse his candidacy.?

?I will never forget this campaign and the people that I met, but now our focus must become winning this election.? Swords said. ?There is no doubt in my mind that Former Congressman Shamansky represents our best chance of victory this November. I encourage all of you, whose causes have become and will continue to be my causes, to support Bob with all of your energy.?

A graduate of Capital University (Summa cum Laude), Swords is an active citizen in the Columbus area. He will continue to be a voice for working families in the district after graduating from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in May.

Both John and Bob were fun to talk to at MTB. I wish John much success and think this is the best move. Congrats John!
