I’ve noticed this before. Evan Bayh is no Democrat. The latest (from IndyStar):
Before he spoke, Bayh told reporters that he does not support efforts by Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., another potential 2008 presidential candidate, to censure Bush for authorizing domestic eavesdropping. Bayh said it’s not clear whether the law requiring court approval before surveillance was broken, and he instead favors revisiting and possibly updating the law.
As he’s traveled the country preparing for a potential presidential run, Bayh’s top selling point has been the five statewide elections he has won in GOP-dominated Indiana. He pointed out Monday night that while Bush carried Indiana by 21 percentage points — a bigger margin than Bush won in Georgia — Bayh himself carried Indiana by 24 percentage points.
Is there any wonder this guy wins in GOP dominated areas? Invokes 9/11 to justify bombing civilians, wants to go along with DeWine and others and just change the law instead of hold BushCo accountable for illegal wiretapping. It is no wonder. Come on Indiana…get rid of this guy! Update the law? You gotta be kidding me! Evan, big clue homie: Bush doesn’t respect the law – period. Change it all you want, these folks will do what they want…until, that is, someone stands up to them. I love that you win in strong red areas, but do it by standing up, not by cowering down!
