Great piece from Joe Hallett in the Dispatch today. He discusses Virginia Governor Tim Kaine’s use of exurbs to fuel an upset victory over Kilgore.
I’ve been saying for some time that all we need in Delaware County is a few more percent. We probably won’t ever make it blue – not quickly anyway – but we should be able to turn it a bit purple-ish.
The question is will the message from Greater Ohio resonate and be usable for Dems in the county? I would say the lesson from Kaine to avoid wedge issues and focus on this stuff sure makes sense to me.
One thing is for sure and that is exurbs can play a roll:
Folks in counties that historically are Pluto for Democrats made Kaine governor of Virginia. There?s a lesson for Ohio.
