You know, I was having a perfectly normal day. I decided not to post much…make it a light day. Get some chores caught up on. Nice dinner with my family. Have a few drinks with like-minded friends. Then this happened: BSB – The Most Pressing Issue In Ohio:

To amend sections 3107.03 and 5103.03 of the Revised Code to prohibit an adoptive or foster child from being placed in the private residence of a homosexual, bisexual, or transgender person.

Join us tonight for some pints and politics at the Delaware Drinking Liberally group meeting. We’ll be there around 7:00pm at the Old Bag of Nails pub (Google Map). Bring a friend and enjoy some “spirited” discussions as we attempt to solve all the ills of our corrupt Republican government…or at least have a good beer or three ;-).

We meet the second Friday of each month at the same place. All are welcome any time. We focus mainly on Delaware County, but invariably get into other state and national stuff as well.

I attended the open house last night for the new Columbus America Votes offices. Pretty nice digs. For those unaware, America Votes is a coalition of a great many organizations on the left side of the dial – issue-oriented, labor groups, and other PACs. Their aim is to coordinate efforst among groups to increase efficiencies and power.

I actually first got involved in politics to my current level due to an America Votes meeting where I realized there were more progressives in Delaware than I first thought.
